How Matt got in the best shape of his life
What did you want to achieve when you started the process at ONE?
I wanted to lose fat and get in shape. I wanted to look and feel good.
Did you achieve the physique you were looking for?
Yes and no, yes being I lost 10kg and I’ve put on muscle. I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved but the journey doesn’t stop here.
What are the 3 lessons learnt at ONE?
I’ve learnt a lot about nutrition and Calculating macros. Secondly how to perform the exercises with good form. Thirdly, to have a plan before going to the gym and tracking what I do, ie weights, reps and sets, this helps me track my progress.
How did your trainer help you in getting to your goal?
Constantly motivating me inside and outside of the gym, regular messages to check up on me kept me focused. It was good knowing there was someone keeping me on track and someone to answer any questions I had about nutrition, exercising and anything really.
What was the best nutrition tip for you?
Best tip was learning about macros overall, learning what food was bad and what was good. Just from changing my diet made a massive difference on my body.
What would you say to someone who thinks getting a result is too hard?
That they are not doing it right. It’s actually quite simple when you put in the work and learn about nutrition and how to lift.
The biggest lifestyle change you have kept and will continue to?
Eating healthy and not overeating especially with junk food. I’ve started cooking a lot and It doesn’t have to be boring food, my trainer has taught me that the food is only boring if you make it boring. I really enjoy cooking and eating at healthy food at home now.
